This is the Yellow Trail loop in the Tom A. Freeman Preserve and Marshall Nature Area. The southern and northern sections of the trail tend to have slightly different characteristics, but overall the trail is enjoyable. The southern section tends to be very muddy, and is steeper than the other trails, but is still a nice outing. There is a section where it turns to the north, and there appears to be a trail that continues west, but this "trail" basically putters out into wetlands and a drainage ditch. The turn isn't well labeled, and the turn to continue on the Yellow Trail may be confused for the Green Trail - West connector. The connector trail junction is on top of a ridge, while the turn to stay on the trail is down on the side of a hill.

The northern section connects the southern section of the Red Trail with the Blue Trail. It involves navigating through a variety of woods and up and down some mild hills. It can get very muddy in the spring and after rain, and it can be difficult to find the trail in the fall after it is covered in fallen leaves.
