Runner Notes
There are mountain bikers out there so be aware...The best runners I know are constantly aware of their surroundings but once in a while a runner will think they own the trail...Don't be a jerk and scare a cyclist off their bike...In my experience, the cyclists are courteous so just try to return the favor (or run in the opposite direction on the singletrack to be extra aware).
Description
Hardwood Ski and Bike has over 80 km of beautiful, rolling trails through hardwood and pine forests for not only mountain biking but running as well!
My family is big into cycling whereas my love is running...Hardwood is just perfect for us. The trails are very progressive for both running and biking...although I stay off some of the more advanced bike trails because the turns are pretty sharp.
There is a running fee (less than the bike fee) but they have to charge it for liability, etc. I run a lot in the local forests but coming here when I can despite the fee is worth it because there are toilets (inside during business hours...porta-poties after hours), drinking water, parking, a cafe, a shop when I need some socks or a reusable water bottle. There are also places to leave your stuff inside.
A special added bonus is their bike wash which I use to wash out my shoes after a muddy run (the hoses are like power washers) and my legs before I get in the car.
