Description

Directions to Trailhead:
From I-81, take Exit 150 to Rt. 220N to Fincastle. Turn left onto Rt. 606 just before downtown Fincastle and continue straight through stop sign. Follow this road for ~6.5 miles and you'll climb a large mountain. Park at the top on the right side. The trail begins here (but the trailhead is not marked).

Located in Craig County, this 5-mile loop offers you a chance to leave everything behind. This singletrack run begins on the Sulphur Ridge Trail with a quick steep descent along a rocky path to the valley floor where a nice campsite is located and a seasonal creek. From the valley floor, you begin a gradual non-stop climb through lush vegetation until you reach the ridgeline. Then turn onto the Broad Mountain Trail and follow the rocky ridgeline trail back to your starting point.

The upper portion of the trail affords views of surrounding valley and mountains, while the lower portion is through dense, lush vegetation.
