Description

To access this trail, park at the Beaver Creek Parking structure. Follow the Five Senses Trail to the start of the Turquoise Lake Trail. Signs will point you in the right direction for this popular trail. This trail is often called the Beaver Lake Trail because that is its most popular destination, but its official name is Turquoise Lake.

The trail doesn't have the best start near the maintenance yard, but soon the trail veers back towards Beaver Creek and you follow the creek on a wide track.

You pass the Village to Village Trail and cross the Larkspur ski run. Keep an eye out for the signs to keep you on the right trail.

You'll cross Beaver Creek on a bridge, and the trail steepens while still on a wide road. The trail slowly narrows as you approach the lake, and it kicks up fairly steeply at times. About .3 from the lake, you'll cross the wilderness boundary.

The trail mellows from Beaver Lake to Upper Turquoise as you continue following the stream through dense forest. The trail is mostly in the trees except when you pop out alongside the occasional meadow.

About .5 mile from the lake, you'll come across the junction to West Grouse Creek Trail #2129, and you'll be able to see Lower Turquoise Lake. Follow the sign, cross the creek, and follow the trail up to Upper Turquoise Lake. It is worth it!

Beaver Lake is a nice spot to have a lunch, watch for wildlife, and listen to nature.
