This pleasant foot trail intermingles with a longer mountain bike trail that goes to Newnans Lake. Recently built in December 2016, this trail's smooth tread and easy-to-spot brown blazes are inviting and ready for newcomers to check it out.

Along the way, the trail takes you through many ecosystems, ranging from cypress hammocks to upland pine. They are still working on clearing some of the land, so you might see adjacent trees that are down, but the trails are clear. For the most part, the trail is relatively flat and the highlight is the view of Newnans Lake near the far end of the loop.

Southern pine, palmettos, cypress, and live oak dominate this area's grassy plains and cypress hammocks.
