Description
This 12 mile paved multiuser path complex along the east bank of the Arkansas River is the crown jewel of Tulsa's trails. Beginning at the Gilcrease Museum Road with a connection to the
KATY Trail, the route runs downstream to E. 101st Street. In the popular segment from S. 11th Street 71st Street, there is a separate path for pedestrians, generally on the west, and a separate path for cyclists, rollerblades and skateboards, generally on the east. In places where the two user trails merge and at crossings, there is good signage to discourage conflicts.
Besides direct access to the Gathering Place, the trail complex has many amenities, including water, restrooms, public art and parking.
Interconnections with the
KATY Trail,
Riverparks West Bank Trail,
Joe Creek Trail and the
Creek Turnpike Trail make this the spine of Tulsa's trail system and offers multiple explorations for hiking, running and biking.
