Description

This trail provides a relatively mellow run through sparsely wooded areas, though largely situated in a meadow. There are great spots to stop and take in the views of the Indian Peaks and surrounding mountains. Expect a short, technical climb right near the end that has the tendency to feature loose rocks.

Flora & Fauna

Ponderosa and lodgepole pine are abundant, as is Indian Paintbrush in the summer/fall. Aspen can be seen changing colors from the meadow in the fall. Keep an eye out for deer, and always read signage for recent mountain lion sightings.
