To access this short overlook trail, the best starting point is at the Oxbow Overlook parking lot. Follow a portion of the Achenbach Trail until breaking off to an overlook of the Little Missouri River. There's a slight elevation change at the beginning then it's mostly flat to the overlook.

The entire trail is through prairie grassland. There's no bentonite clay on the trail so it's a good choice when other trails are muddy.
