Runner Notes
This trail's even surface lets you think less about foot placement and more about enjoying your surroundings.
Description
There are a few potential access points for this trail. My preferred is to take the
Ridge Trail and watch for signs marking the
South River Loop Connector going off to the right. Follow the trail downhill until it flattens out along a braided stream that will lead you down to the river. The river is rocky and winding as it cuts through some hilly terrain. Turn back uphill on some steps and the trail eventually takes the line of an old access road. Soon, you'll come to the gravel
Hiking Path Spur where you'll want to turn right and then right again on the
Hiking Path. To complete the loop, make another right on the South River Loop.
Flora & Fauna
Visit this area in the autumn to see it erupt in fiery fall color.
