Dogs Unknown
Need to Know
This is a multi-use path and you might encounter hikers, runners, bikers, rollerbladers, horses, and dog walkers. The path is wheelchair accessible and stroller friendly.
Runner Notes
Great for a long run if you don't mind pounding some pavement miles! Also a nice option after a rain, if the trails are too muddy.
Description
Located just outside of Atlanta, this multi-use paved path heads through Cobb, Paulding and Polk Counties starting in Smyrna and ending at the Georgia/Alabama state line.
The trail follows the path of an old railroad, and as such the grade is fairly level. The trail passes through scenic, forested sections and through towns and farm fields. There are a few underpasses, tunnels and bridges along the path.
The wide, paved, shaded path is very popular, and you won't be alone on nice weather days. There are multiple trailheads and access points along the way so you can pick and choose your starting point and mileage depending on how long of an outing you are looking for.

website.
