Description

From the trailhead, the trail climbs over a small dome then drops into the trees, passing the Ski Loop Trail. From there, the route continues on a gentle climb and descent past Wickersham Dome.

The trail then drops into spruce forests for a bit before more uphill towards its highest point, near mile ten. Afterwards, the route continues through a section of climbs and descents.

The views into the Beaver Creek drainage open up as an extended downhill starts. You'll get views of "Big Bend" as well. The route passes through an extended section of burn area from 1995.

Join the Wickersham Creek Trail for the last two miles to cross Beaver Creek*.

*Crossing Beaver Creek to get to the Borealis-LeFevre Cabin can be dangerous at high water. Use caution. Try either upstream or downstream from where the trail meets the creek to find the shallowest spot.
