Runner Notes

The top is rocky with caves.

Description

Mt. Percival is a great run that many forget about. It is a great alternative to Mt. Morgan or Rattlesnake. The trail starts off pretty mellow getting to the mountain, and then it will climb. At about 1 mile in, it will start to get a little steeper, then around 1.5-miles in, it will be the steepest, although nothing over-the-top complicated or technical. There will be some rock slides with a switchback prior to the final ascent. Near the top, you can climb through some tight caves to get to the views or you can go around if you have dogs.

The top has some great views of Squam Lake. To the right is Mt. Morgan, and if you are feeling up to it, you can do the Mt. Percival - Morgan Loop.

Choice to make on how to summit Mt. Percival. Mt. Morgan has a similar choice.

The first mile was super technical. After that it flattened out. Still a lot of running on a steam bed with flowing water which made it very slippery. 1.9mi — 0h 53m
