Description
O.P. Schnabel Park is located on Bandera and Braun and the trails in the park connect to the
Leon Creek Greenway.
An easy trailhead for this short loop begins at the parking lot of YMCA Braundera, closest to the main facility. It is an easy, paved path with great tree coverage. The loop is considered Level 1 for all accessibility with a short detour to a Level 2 accessibility path. There is little to no elevation in this section. Although this loop is paved, it runs parallel with a dirt path that many runners and mountain bikers access. So, be aware of cyclists and other runners.
Flora & Fauna
This short loop has great tree coverage and great vegetation allowing for viewing of wildlife such as deer, birds, snakes, and small critters. You may find yourself running into other park visitors viewing wildlife or collecting rock samples and plant species.
