Description
The trail is a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth the extra effort to get there. This trail would be great as part of a longer backpacking loop, linking it up to other trails in the area.
The singletrack down Timber Mountain is smooth as it weaves through the trees. There are two major switchbacks on the trail, one of which is at the beginning. Look out for one rocky wet section that is relatively flat. There is one steeper climb towards the end of the trail and then the trail continue back down the mountain.
The only way to access this trail is via the full Timber Mountain Loop.
The trail is in heavy bear country - many signs of bears along the way. Be sure to be "bear aware." Best to run this in a group making lots of noise.
