This trail stems from the Scenic Loop (paved) trail. Follow the signs to reach the Painter Trail. This trail will take you out through "Gate 4" and into a field of flowers. Red blazes will bring you into the woods, over Rocky Run Creek, and then you'll climb up then back down several hills.

Pay attention to the color of the blazes (follow red) and for double blazes, which indicate a turn on the trail. This trail shares sections with the Minshall Trail, Middle Farm Trail, and Rocky Run Trail.
