Starting from where the bitumen ends on Silvan Road, the unsealed portion (shown here) follows a generally north-south track through the dense beautiful forests in the Dandenong Ranges. For the most part, this road is used as a main artery through the park, pumping visitors through various dedicated running tracks along the way.

Near its southern end, Silvan Road leads visitors into the vicinity of RJ Hamer Arboretum, which is worth your time to check out! Simply follow Chalet Road to the Woolrich pull out and you'll be there.
