Description

The Manana Trail starts on doubletrack just past the gate at the end of Komo Mai Dr. and climbs gradually in dense forest with a couple of short climbs. The trail eventually narrows into technical singletrack with a lot of roots. Manana can be a bit confusing through here as the trail braids into a number of different lines. Keep to the most worn part of the route, everything eventually converges back together.

Stay left a major unsigned trail junction (with Waimano Falls Spur which heads down to the waterfalls and pools-this makes for a great stop on the way back) and continue steep punchy climbs to a ridge. The forest opens up here and you'll see great views all around. The ridge is just as challenging as the lower reaches of the trail. Rather than roots, you'll encounter water bars, steep climbs, occasional deep ruts and exposed sections.

Just over a third of the way into the route, you'll climb to an beautiful overlook in a grassy meadow. There's a bench here, making it a great place to take a break. This is the turn around point for the Mañana if you're looking for a shorter out-and-back run.

The second half of the route is quite steep and rugged; often it is unmaintained.

Manana Ends at the Ko'olau Range Summit.
