Overview

This out-and-back run connects Mid Mountain Trail, Armstrong, and Spiro Trail. Obviously, you could run this in either direction depending on where you are staying or where you park.

Need to Know

Bring your credit card or cash for the Cafe... the (huge) ham sandwich is a good mid-run snack.

Runner Notes

Heads up for the mountain bikers... most are also looking for you, but some aren't.

Description

Spend the weekend at Stein Eriksen Lodge and use this run to justify your extravagance. To start, leave Steins and go under the bridge, connecting up with the Mid Mountain Trail, following it seemingly forever. When you arrive at the junction to continue on the Mid Mountain Trail, you'll see a warning sign that states 11 miles till the next legal exit off the trail. Head downhill here onto the Spiro Trail via Armstrong (dirt road). Keep following Spiro Trail to the Park City Mountain Resort base area where you can refill water and/or buy some food at the little cafe on the plaza deck. Return by reversing the route and enjoy an afternoon sitting on Stein's deck.

Flora & Fauna

Watch for moose.
