Description

Our experience only covers the section from the trailhead to Four Mile Falls. The trail starts at the parking lot at the end of Four Mile Road (FR465) and climbs gently until reaching the boundary of the Weminuche Wilderness where it then drops sharply toward Four Mile Creek.

From that point, the trail follows the creek (although the creek is rarely visible from the trail) to the base of Falls Creek Falls. This section contains only small elevation changes. There are good views of Eagle Mountain and Eagle Peak No. 2. Views of Falls Creek Falls and Four Mile Falls are available over the last half mile before reaching Falls Creek (Falls Creek Falls are to the left). After crossing the creek, the trail becomes a bit more difficult but a short run will lead to a closer look at Four Mile Falls.

The trail is heavily used and seems to be a favorite for families and their pets. In July and August, it is recommended to get an early start because temperatures can start to rise quickly late in the morning.
