Description

This trail begins at the Squaw Flat Campground along with the Squaw Canyon Trail. Head west rather than south to take this trail.

The trail will slowly gain elevation along the white and red sandstone rocks that separate the campground from the trailhead parking area. Keep an eye out for cairns as the trail itself may not be clearly visible on the rocks. Follow the cairns south over the red rocks. Keep an eye out for a righthand/west bend after reaching the highest point to ensure you follow the best route back down.

This route creates a broad "C" shaped curve before heading south to Big Spring Canyon Trail.
