Description

Kepros Mountain is part of the Boise Grand Slam runs. It is located in the Danskin Mountains. The route up the mountain takes a cross-country trek across what were once 4wd roads, old motorcycle paths, and well-worn use trails. It starts off 9 miles up Blacks Creek Road from I-84. This is a good early season trip when there is still snow high up in the mountains. In the fall, the area fills with hunters and their activities, so it might be best to avoid this area. There is no water and very little shade on this route.

From Blacks Creek Road, head northwest along the flank of Three Point Mountain to gain the northern ridge and follow the ridge north to reach the summit of Kepros Mountain. Due to the nature of this route, you may want to bring the Trail Run Project mobile app with you to stay on course.
