Description
This trail follows the old stone-paved path that connected Bogotá and Choachi. It crosses two very unique ecosystems: Andean cloud forest and Paramo. We did the run uphill, and the elevation change is quite significant. I would not suggest doing it downhill, as the path becomes very slippery when wet. This is an area that receives a lot of rainfall, so bring your rain gear with you. The run begins relatively close to the road that goes from Bogotá to Choachi (vereda Bella Suiza) and ends at the Matarredonda Nature Reserve (a private reserve).
Flora & Fauna
Paramo, only present in the Equatorial Andes, and Andean Cloud forest, full of epiphytes.
