Wrangler and Rowdy are loop trails adjacent to and accessed through the Horsethief Campground. These are designed primarily with kids in mind however they offer a great, albeit small, taste of what running in the greater Moab area is like for any novice or anyone here for the first time.

Featuring a bit of slickrock, a little sand, twisty corners and some step up/downs from small rock ledges they are a preview of what one will find throughout the rest of Moab on a much larger and challenging scale.

If you are not staying in the campground, please park outside the gate near the dumpster area, or contact the Host and ask permission to park within the campground. Both trails start at a map kiosk marked ‘Camp Trails’ on the Buckskin Loop of the campground.

To access Rowdy, follow Wrangler Loop to the left (clockwise) from the kiosk for a short distance until you come to a gate. Go through the gate making sure to close it behind you. This starts the Rowdy loop.

There are many more challenging features here than on Wrangler. This trail joins a spur of the Chisholm Trail for a short distance but then separates once again, all of this is clearly signed.
