Description
This trail departs from near the church in Levanto and climbs the hills up to a high traverse. The views leaving Levanto and looking back on the town are wonderful and make even the first 0.3 miles worth it for those just looking for a short stroll.
Shortly thereafter, the trail meanders onto the road for a ways. Keep your eyes out for the trail signs marking where the trails splits off from the road (near one of the 3 star hotels). The trail then weaves between villas before entering the forest where you thankfully gain elevation under the shade of large trees. Shade is available often but sections of the trail are also exposed, so be sure to bring sunblock and a sun hat. On the plus side, the views of the ocean are fantastic.
As you approach the junction near Sant'Antonio, you gain an expansive view to all the towns of the Cinque Terre! Continuing on down to Monterosso is only a quick 40 minutes or so from here.
