Description

The Pharr Family Preserve is home to 1.7 miles of natural surface trail perfect for walking or biking. The trail winds through 66 acres of land protected by the Catawba Lands Conservancy. The property also features a canoe and kayak launch located 300 yards from the trailhead.The Pharr Family Preserve Trail offers a unique place to meander through a protected alluvial forest along the scenic Rocky River.

From the parking lot, you'll experience a nice descent towards the kayak drop off point. Take a left to stay on the trail, or go straight to see the kayak drop off. The trail is relatively flat with mild rolling terrain as it travels through the trees and opens areas. Runners will cross three bridges on the way to the abrupt end, where you must turn around to return to your car. This is a multi-use trail so you'll likely have some bikers as company as you run.
