DuPont State Recreational Forest is a very popular multiuse, bi-directional trail system, so be on the lookout for hikers, horses, and bikers. It is normally open in any weather although it can close in extended periods of freeze / thaw during the winter.

Description

Tarkiln Branch Road starts off of Sky Valley Road near the Guion Farm parking area. The trail descends 200 feet before a short climb to its termination at Thomas Cemetery Road in the Southwest. It connects to Sky Valley Road, Wintergreen Falls, Sandy, and Thomas Cemetery Road.

Flora & Fauna

Pine trees, oak and maple trees. Many species of wildflowers in the summer.
