This upper section of the Yellow Trail starts at the parking lot near the observation tower, sharing a trailhead with the Red Trail and the Lower West Yellow Trail. It heads east, where you can end at the entrance station or continue to the Middle Yellow Trail.

This trail can be connected with the Middle Yellow Trail, Lower East Yellow Trail, and Lower West Yellow Trail for a long, wooded trek.
