Part of the Raccoon Mountain Trail System, Switch Yard is a smooth and rolling beginner singletrack. The trail can be accessed from the Connector Trail, Lower Chunky, or the intersection of the Grindstone Ridge Trail / Small Intestine trails. Parking is close by at the Switch Yard parking lot.

From the Connector Trail, the trail runs into the woods through some easy sections, heading towards a log feature meant for bikers. As the trail exits the woods, Lower Chunky intersects. Once out in the open, TVA's Switch Yard can be seen (and heard) on the left. As the trail heads towards the end, the Small Intestine Trail can be seen on the right. A large wooden trail sign marks the end.
