Description
Nestled in the outskirts of Risterstown and Owings Mills, this gem that you have stumbled upon will truly delight for both the newbie and the seasoned runner!
Starting on the north side of the trail, you'll shortly encounter a semi-technical dirt singletrack with plenty of roots to keep you on your toes. After crossing the Forest Rd. clearing, you'll soon encounter the barren rocks of the serpentine; there is signage on the trail describing the reason for the loose rock that you are now traversing over. After the field of recently burned / cleared trees, you'll cross several small streams and begin a short climb back into the singletrack before making your way to cross the Forest Rd. again and head toward the southern entrance to the trail, which is also where the visitor center is located.
The trail features varied terrain, dirt singletrack, doubletrack, roots, small stream crossings, open field, and serpentine barren rock making for a fun and varied run.
