Overview
This course is a true mountain challenge with glorious singletrack, lung bursting climbs, and breathtaking views. The route takes you around the rim of the Jonkershoek Valley and is absolute unforgettable.
Description
Starting just outside of the gate to Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, you make your way up to the contour via the jeeptracks. Once on the contour, some easy running takes you past the firehut, several waterfalls, and to the base of
Swartboskloof.
Swartboskloof is the major climb for this route and seems never ending. Once over
Swartboskloof some technical trails will bring you past the top of
Kurktrekker and along the upper rim of the
Panorama Trail: Kurktrekker to Swartboskloof to Bergriviernek. You then descend to the upper contour on the opposite side of the valley and continue for 10km of gradual downhill, easy, free-flowing running to get you back to where you started.
