Description

This trail is packed dirt with a slight grade at the start/end just behind the shelter. There is a bridge over a small creek at the bottom of this area. The rest of the trail is rather flat, and takes you right up to the water's edge. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow. A duck box is located near the end, and there is an educational display to point this out. Primarily located within a Loblolly Pine forest, this trail features trees and shrubs that would be found in lower areas near water. This short trail offers a better chance at viewing ducks and amphibians than the Talking Tree Trail.

Flora & Fauna

Variety of wildflowers, butterflies, songbirds, frogs and toads easily seen—deer, beaver, bald eagles, and osprey are potentially more difficult to see.
