Thanksgiving through January 31, the forest is closed on weekends. Closed on state holidays.

Description

This is a short trail of gravel and packed dirt. It is very easy to follow and has multiple stopping points where you can listen to the trees tell their story via an interactive interface. The trail has a very low grade, and offers the opportunity to see a variety of different types of trees native to the Piedmont, such as Loblolly Pines and hardwoods, as well as shrubs.

Flora & Fauna

Variety of wildflowers, butterflies, songbirds, frogs and toads easily seen—deer, beaver, bald eagles, and osprey are potentially more difficult to see.
