Some muddy sections, some rocky sections and some river crossing sections that require shoes with good traction or hiking boots. Not really a family-friendly trail due to a few technical sections (mostly the river crossing).
Need to Know
The river crossing may be a bit too technical for children or animals. A nice run overall but be aware that after raining, there are muddy sections. But, with hiking boots or shoes with good traction, it's all good.
Runner Notes
Plenty of rocks and roots, a few small bridges and a few water crossing with rock hops. Fun!
Description
Wolf Trail travels through mature forest and passes by one of the highest points in Gatineau Park. Expect great views at Mahingan Lookout and Tawadina Lookout (slightly off trail). The trail is a mixture of rocks, roots, and dirt. It can be quite muddy in the spring and after a heavy rain. It is great all year round, especially in the fall and it becomes a fun trail to snowshoe in the winter. Signage throughout the whole trip.
There is a river crossing (during Fall season) that may be too technical for some.
