Dogs Leashed
Standard state park rules apply. You may check with the park personnel at the operations office. Not all campgrounds are open to vehicles but walking and biking access gates are always open.
Description
This simple multi-use trail starts at a small parking area north of the park headquarters. From there it travels above the water on a crushed gravel and a number of interconnecting sections of road. The wide trail provides easy access to the Wrinkle Cove area, Fiddleneck area, Acorn Campground, and Oak Knoll Campground, an eventually ends at the Coyote Point Trail just north of Coyote Point. There's intermittent to no shade so run either in the early mornings or evenings.
A collection of roads and boat-ramps allows runners to further explore the landscape and add some mileage. The entire area is well maintained with plenty of clean restroom facilities, water taps, picnic tables, shelters and BBQ pits. There's also lots of wildlife to observe and plenty of photo ops. At times, the map layer may make it appear that sections of the trail travel through the water, obviously the water level was higher when the photo was taken and is at an average level at the time of this recording.
There are plenty of places to eat in Valley Springs that includes a large grocery store.
