Runner Notes
This route provides the shortest & easiest way to get to the relatively flat CR304.
Description
From the gravel lot at River Park, cross the bridge onto Bridge to Bridge trail, and run south along the river, almost immediately passing a steep trail on the left. Continue on Bridge to Bridge until you reach a 3-way junction. Head left towards North & Whipple Trails. After a short climb (with great views of the Town of BV & the Sawatch Range), veer right onto Whipple Trail.
It's a consistent climb, but nothing too steep. This route follows the old wagon road, that was once used to take supplies from the Colorado Midland Railroad, which is now CR304, to the town of BV.
Once you reach CR304, you have numerous options. Trail maps are plentiful, so you can piece things together as you go.
Flora & Fauna
Deer, lizards, mountain lions.
