Description

This trail starts from a good-sized parking area just off one of the main park roads, meaning it is easy to get to. The trail can be a little sandy but is easy enough. From the trailhead, it heads northeast towards the edge of the river. Prior to the river, you'll have passed a side spur of the River Trail that leads to a small overlook to an old, destroyed dam.

Once you arrive at the river, there are lovely views of the cloudy, blue, spring-fed water. The river bends back away from the trail, and you'll see another spur section of this trail that heads south, and can be taken back to the parking area. After rejoining the river at a wider section, it soon splits in two as it circles a small island.

The trail follows the bottom branch of the river for a bit through slightly thicker trees that offer some respite from the sun. Part way along there is a very short spur that cuts south to the Buck Lake Trail. The trail reaches the edge of the park and turns south along the fence line until it meets the CR 180 Trail.
