The name means "ghost waterfall", and the trail to reach the waterfall is very difficult.

Description

To get to the trailhead, start at Gate 2 of the Serra do Cipó National Park and take Trilha Cachoeira do Gaviao. The full out-and-back run to the falls is about 24 km round-trip, and only the initial 6 km are easy, so leave early if possible.

The first part of the trail is easy until the beginning of the ascent; it then becomes a very challenging run. The trail is not well marked until the waterfall of the Drumond. Along the uphill, keep right on the climb until the last fall; after that run to the left. You can use the Trail Run Project mobile app to help find your way.

It is recommended to start the trail at around 5 a.m. at the latest and return before 2 p.m. because there is little shade along the route. Overall, this is a very nice run with wonderful views.

Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and snacks.
