Description

The White Loop through the Hal Scott Regional Preserve and Park is so called because of the white blazes marking the trail. The blazes are well-spaced and easy to follow.

The trail starts from a spacious parking lot on a well-packed dirt road. After about a third of a mile, the trail splits into the loop. The southern portion of the trail continues to follow the dirt road, and the ground is generally dry and firm. You'll pass a short parking lot connector trail on the left about one mile along the trail. At the southwest corner is an intersection with the Yellow Loop Trail, which takes people further into the western portion of the park.

The west and north portions of the loop are a softer experience. While still doubletrack, the trail is more grassy and has places where it is covered with water for a short distance. The land over which the trail traverses is very flat and open, with few trees except along the western portion of the loop.

From the northwest corner of the loop, the Red Loop Trail splits off to the northern portion of the park. The loop ends back at the dirt road. Take a left to head back to the parking area.
