Description

Doesn't have to be an out and back. With 2 cars one can park at the Pilot Creek Access lot on Boyd Nelson road and the other car can be at the Pilot Mountain Visitors Center. From the Visitors center you would take the Grassy Ridge Trail briefly to the Grindstone Trail also briefly and then veer to the right at the fork where it picks up the Pilot Creek trail at the sign. It's about 4 miles from car to car one way. This way is mainly downhill on the Pilot Creek trail. Beautiful trail with lots of variety and some easy water crossings. Thanks to the Friends of the Sauratown Mountains group for creating this wonderful trail!

Nice longer trail. Couple of small creek crossings and some rocky spots. Nothing spectacular on this but easily allows you to add some shaded miles
