Description
It is recommended to get an departure from Milho Verdel by car to Capivari. From Capivari, follow the road to arrive at the trailhead. Come prepared for an entire day's journey.
The Pico do Itambé is located in a region known as "Poço Preto" and by car, it is possible to advance considerably along the road to shorten the ascent to the parking lot. From the parking lot, the trail will climb up a well-maintained path to a park entrance sign.
From there, the trail climbs very steeply, gaining 300m in elevation as you climb toward the summit. Keep an eye open for white arrows along the way that indicate the path.
At the peak, in addition to antennas, there is a little house for those who spend the night on the mountain. The panoramic views from the summit allow you to view various cities and districts of the region. Once you are done enjoying the view, simply run back down the way you came.
