The park is open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
This is a National Landmark but is also housed on a US Air Force Installation. Base command can and will periodically close access roads, so follow the signs posted!

Description

This trail takes you through a portion of the restored prairie land in the Historic Huffman Prairie Flying Field National Landmark, it is the largest of it's kind in Ohio at just over 100 acres! The best time to see this site is in the summer when the flowers are in full bloom, but there are birds to see year round due to it's proximity to the reservoir and the nearby tree cover. Along the way, you can also learn about the history of this field and man's race to flight due to the well written and placed interpretive signs. The end of the trail meets Pylon Road and turns south to form a lollipop loop.

Flora & Fauna

More than can be listed here. I identified Coneflower, Bluestem, Jerusalem Artichoke, Prairie Dock, Rosinweed and Black Eyed Susans on my last trip, but there were so many more there that I am sure I missed!
