Description
This short trail is a spur off of the
Artists Bluff Trail. Despite being very short, it is rather difficult. After diverging from the
Artists Bluff Trail, it continues the short rocky incline. However, soon after, the scrambling begins. The most difficult part of this scrambling portion is a place that requires going up a not so steep, but very sheer wedge between two large rocks. Once you are up this wedge, however, you are almost of the summit. From here, there are astounding views of Cannon Moutain, Echo Lake, Franconia Notch, and the surrounding mountains of White Mountain National Forest.
For all of these reasons, this is a difficult, but rewarding spur, and attempting it with pets or small children is probably not advisable.
