Need to Know
The portions of this trail that don't coincide with the snowmobile trail are in poor condition.
Description
The trail starts at the Green Kiosk/Pequawket Trailhead Parking off Ossipee Lake Road. According to Google Maps, this trail is primarily composed of the Lead Mine Road, however signs on the ground refer to this as Old Pequawket Trail. The trail follows orange hiking medallions. After about 0.5 miles at an unnamed junction, a trail heads left to the airstrip; stay right. Shortly after this, an obscure path (marked with orange medallions) veers right. This takes you back onto the main path in a short distance.
Follow the path right, just below the beaver pond. In a short ways, the path turns left onto an unmaintained section of the trail. Follow the orange medallions, as this is the only indication that there was ever a trail here. The trail comes out to an opening and hugs the woods until it re-enters on the other side. The trail comes out around Junction C and takes a right, then a left.
The trail is easier to follow, here, as it follows the rest of Lead Mine Road. The trail passes by Junction U and continues to where Lead Mine Road turns left.
