Runner Notes

This area can get pretty windy, and there is little cover from the elements. There are a lot of unmarked turns on these trails that lead you around this entire area, but generally, it is still easy to loop your way back to the parking lot if you get turned around. This is a great trail to watch the sun set.

Description

The trail to the Gorge Amphitheater is fairly flat and easy to follow. Avoid any trail turns to the left, and continue fairly straight the entire way. Portions of the trail clearly give away that this was once an old road; some portions having two distinct wheel tracks, and some have been overgrown so the trail is now singletrack. The surface is mostly hard-packed dirt, with some portions with mud puddles or requiring travel through some taller pokey brush. This is a great spot for an easier cruise, as this trail is fairly flat and mostly mildly technical.

Flora & Fauna

Look out for rattlesnakes during the summer.
