Open year around. Staunton River Park is fee based. Hours of operation vary by season.

Runner Notes

Close to the park boundary in places. The trail is multi-use so you can expect to encounter horses.

Description

This trail is pink blazed. If connecting from River Bank Trail, bear right to head downhill and follow the signs for Loop 2. There is a lot of undulation and some crossing of little creeks that require some very minor rock hopping.

On Loop 2, Beaver Swamp Trail is passed coming in from the left before the trail bends around to reach an intersection with Loop 1. To continue with Loop 1, head straight on; to head back towards River Bank Trail and the horse trailer parking lot, bear right.

If continuing to complete the full pair of loops, continue uphill to start Loop 1. Eventually, the circuit is completed. Take a right bearing uphill to lead to another right turn. The trail is still marked with pink blazes which can be followed to head south and towards the horse trailer parking lot and River Bank Trail once more.
