The trail is open all year round and is perfect for all types of foot travel. The only time to stay off the trail is November 15-30, which is firearm hunting season for whitetail deer. Other times of the year when hunting is allowed should not pose any problem to someone using the Allegan State Game Area for recreational activities.

Runner Notes

There's a possibility of having to jump over logs. Thankfully, there's not many and they will give the trail a bit of variety.

Description

The Wakazoo Trail is a relatively flat trail. Some of the trail goes alongside equestrian routes and crosses backcountry roads. These roads are not heavily used, so no problem exists. There are parts of the trail that go through heavily forested areas and parts that go through plains where grasses exist and lightning and fires are a bigger threat.

Flora & Fauna

There's plenty of whitetail deer to see at dawn and dusk and tree squirrels enjoying the woods.
