Overview
Cheonjiyeon Waterfall (천지연폭포) is a beautiful waterfall that plunges 72 feet off a cliff into a peaceful, crystal clear river. This easy and beautiful path to the falls is extremely popular with couples/newlyweds and is thus always crowded.
Need to Know
Open year-round from sunrise to 10 p.m. Access costs 2000 won/adult.
Description
A large parking area with gift shops and food vendors is on the southern bank of the river just north of the small harbor. Find the trail on the northern end of the parking area. Just past a massive map of Jeju Island, you'll see a lovely bridge crossing the river.
The pathway follows the northern bank of the river to the falls. The path is very wide and paved the whole way with large stones so it is very easy going. The pathway is beautiful—more a garden than a run—with many flowers and spots to stop and rest.
At the end of the trail, there is a wide open viewing area that offers unobstructed views of the beautiful waterfall. A small flight of stairs takes one to a secondary viewing platform that is closer, but has less direct views. A large green fence makes it clear this is the end of the path. Enjoy the falls and then head back the way you came.
