Marking on rocks is considered graffiti and is illegal in Sedona.

Overview

A scramble up the most famous rock formation in Sedona.

Description

The beginning of the trail/climb starts off straightforward enough...follow the caged barrel cairns and signs. After a few minutes, you'll get on top of the base of Bell Rock. Follow the signs designating the direction of trail. There are also white arrows on certain areas of the rock to help guide you.

There are points along the way where you are climbing more than running and just remember to keep three points of contact (each foot and hand count as a point of contact) with the rock at all times, and you'll be fine. Brace yourself for stunning views from the top.

History & Background

The area surrounding Bell Rock was grazing land for early pioneers. You can find out more at Sedona Heritage Museum.

This should be the most popular trail in Sedona. Such a cool view at the top. You can scramble up a little higher than the trail here 1.7mi
