Description

Start from the parking area off the Camp 70 gravel road. This dirt trail starts north of the road and heads east to parallel it for a short time. Roughly 0.2 miles in, the trail diverts from the road to climb a very gentle grade. About 1.8 miles in, the trail reaches its highest point and descends to the National Wildlife Refuge boundary, passing Brown Mountain Overlook Trail about 2.2 miles from the trailhead. This is a relatively easy wooded trail into the heart of Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The gentle grade also makes this a great cross-country ski route in winter when snow is present.
