The parking lot at Eklutna Lake requires a $5 fee or an Alaska State Park pass.

Description

The Twin Peaks Trail offers excellent views of Eklutna Lake and is a well-traveled trail. The trail quickly gains elevation on its way
to an alpine meadow framed by the dramatic Twin Peaks and Goat Rock. Dall Sheep are often spotted above timberline.

The Twin Peaks Trail is often used to access peaks north of Eklutna Lake, such as the Twin Peaks, Pepper Peak, and Salt Peak.

The trail has an intermediate rating due to its grade, which can be steep in sections and is sustained throughout.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of blueberries, crow berries and sheep can be found just off-trail. This is an excellent trail to take for fall colors.
